Project Overview

Erskine Veterans Charity provides care, accommodation, and support to veterans and their families across Scotland. Delivering vital services to vulnerable people, the charity relies on dependable, secure technology to support its staff, safeguard sensitive data, and ensure continuity of care across multiple sites.

Recognising the growing importance of technology in enabling its services, Erskine undertook a formal review of its technology provision to ensure it had the right foundations in place to meet both current and future needs.

The Challenge

As Erskine’s use of technology increased, so too did the complexity and responsibility associated with managing it. Core systems supported day‑to‑day operations, communication between teams, and the handling of sensitive personal data, all of which required high levels of reliability, security, and oversight.

Existing arrangements no longer offered the visibility, consistency, or reassurance required. In parallel, increasing cyber security risks and regulatory expectations highlighted the need for a more robust and well‑governed approach to technology management.

Erskine needed to reduce operational risk, strengthen resilience, and ensure technology could be trusted as a stable platform that would support, rather than distract from, the charity’s core mission.

What Erskine Were Looking For

This was not simply a requirement for reactive IT support.

Through a formal tender process, Erskine sought a long‑term technology partner capable of delivering a comprehensive and integrated service.

Key requirements included:

  • A fully managed IT service to provide a reliable operational foundation

  • Cyber security embedded across the service, rather than delivered as a bolt‑on

  • Modern voice and communications services to support teams across locations

  • Clear governance, defined SLAs, and transparent reporting

  • A partner who understood the values, responsibilities, and sensitivities of a charity environment

  • The flexibility to evolve and improve services over time

At the heart of the requirement was confidence. Confidence that technology risk was being actively managed and that Erskine’s teams could rely on their systems day to day.

Our Approach

KubeNet worked closely with Erskine throughout the tender and selection process to gain a deep understanding of the charity’s environment, risks, and long‑term objectives.

Our approach focused on designing a joined‑up technology partnership rather than implementing isolated solutions. This meant placing equal emphasis on operational delivery, governance, and service management to ensure accountability and transparency at every level.

By aligning our service model with Erskine’s mission and values, we ensured technology would act as a dependable enabler for the organisation while providing leadership and stakeholders with the reassurance they required.

What We’re Delivering

At the core of the partnership is a fully managed IT service, providing consistent and reliable support for Erskine’s users, systems, and infrastructure. This forms the operational backbone of the engagement.

Alongside managed IT, KubeNet delivers a wider suite of integrated services, including:

  • Embedded cyber security to protect sensitive data and reduce organisational risk

  • Modern voice and communications services to support collaboration and flexible working

  • Proactive monitoring, patching, and maintenance

  • Structured service management, reporting, and escalation processes

Delivered together, these services provide Erskine with a secure, well‑governed technology platform rather than a collection of disconnected systems.

Looking Ahead

The partnership between Erskine Veterans Charity and KubeNet is designed to develop over time.

Beyond day‑to‑day support, KubeNet will continue to work collaboratively with Erskine to identify opportunities for improvement, strengthen cyber resilience, and ensure technology remains aligned with the charity’s evolving needs.

With a strong foundation now in place, Erskine is well positioned to plan for the future, supported by a trusted technology partner focused on long‑term stability, security, and shared values.
